Estimated Plans

Understanding your dental benefits is not easy. There are as many different plans as there are contracts. Your employer has selected your plan and is ultimately responsible for how your contract is designed. Remember, whether your plan covers a major portion of your dental bill, or only a small amount, dental benefits are good for patients because they help pay for treatment.

It is important to know that each contract will specify what types of procedures are considered for benefits. Even if a procedure is medically and dentally necessary, it may be excluded from your contract. This does not mean that you do not need the procedure. It simply means that your plan will not consider the procedure for payment. For example, cosmetic procedures and implants are often excluded from a dental plan.

It is a mistake to let benefits be your sole consideration when you determine what you do about your dental condition.

As a courtesy, in addition to filing the claim, we may initially ask you for your estimated co-payment upfront. Please understand that this is only an estimate based on the information available to us. The range of benefits and percentage of coverage depends solely on what your employer wishes to purchase. Our job is to provide unbiased quality dental care, maintaining oral health.

The financial obligation for dental treatment is between you and our office. The insurance company is responsible solely to you. Upon 30 days after claim submission and your carrier provided payment or insurance payment for any reason has not been paid or received, the remaining balance will be due and payable by you.

Dental insurance covers three areas of dental care: preventive, basic and major services based on insurance derived fees.

*Estimated Coverage Percentage

Preventive care typically covers cleanings, exams and X-rays. Fluoride treatment for patients 18 and younger. *100% coverage

Basic services generally include fillings and non-surgical extractions. *80% to 40%

Major services cover everything else, which is where you usually find plan exclusions. *30% to 0%

A typical example. When an insurance company states they cover 100% of a certain service; they mean 100% based on their fee schedule and not necessarily our office fees. Possibly leaving the patient with a balance toward his or her treatment.

Keep in mind most dental insurance companies are primarily focused on prevention.

Our mission of oral health is to provide patient-centric care, and health promotion to maintain and enhance well-being according to individual needs and desires.

Our goal is to optimize wellness, now and for the future.
